Toyotetsu Canada has announced plans to contruct its first automotive plant in Ontario, Canada.


The plant will provide stamped and assembled parts to Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Cambridge and Woodstock.


Toyotetsu has acquired a 40-acre site in Simcoe, Norfolk county and the CAD$50m, 18,580 square metre plant will employ around 250 at start-up.


“Significant growth and expansion is expected within the first five years of operation,” a Norfolk County statement said.
