Magna International unit Magna Electronics has announced two acquisitions: Troy, Michigan-based Allied Transportation Technology, which makes ultrasonic sensing systems used for parking assistance and back-up object detection, and the Zhangjiagang Suxing Electronics facility located in Zhangjiagang, China.

“The acquisition of Allied will provide [us] with enhanced technology and products that will complement our strong line of existing driver assistance systems,” said Francois Truc, vice president and general manager of Magna Electronics North America and Asia.
“These added technologies will enable us to deliver more complete systems solutions to our customers in the important safety and convenience areas.”
The new facility in China, which will be renamed Magna Electronics Suxing, will complement the unit’s existing electronics product lines with products such as body control modules for China and other markets.
“The acquisition of the Suxing Electronics facility and the integration of its operation into Magna Electronics creates a unique position for us to deliver new technologies to the Chinese market,” said Truc.
“At the same time, by expanding our manufacturing footprint in Asia, we will be able to better serve the needs of our global customers.”
Magna Electronics product lines include reverse park assist cameras, interior mirror electronics, lane departure warning systems, intelligent headlamp controls, in-dash computers, interior and exterior lighting products, plus body electronics, power, and powertrain controllers.
