The decline in North American SUV and ‘light’ truck production has hit jobs at a Canadian shock absorber supplier.
Tenneco Canada has confirmed reports it will cut about 105 hourly jobs at its Owen Sound, Ontario, by early September.
“This particular plant largely supplies General Motors and the reductions were the result of volume declines on light truck and SUV platforms,” a spokeswoman told just-auto by email.
The plant currently employs about 500.
