BMW Canada says it sold a record-breaking 11,022 cars in 2000 – a 22.5% increase
over 1999’s 9011 sales. The motorcycle division also set a sales record –
its 741 deliveries were up 14% on 2000.
Sales were strong across the entire car range but the 3-, 5- and X-series models
accounted for the bulk of deliveries.

BMW introduced several new models to Canada in 2000 including the 320i, priced
under $Can 34,000, a four wheel drive 3-series and the three-litre X5 3.0i.
Over 2000 5-series models were delivered during the year.
