The mechatronic systems and electric motors specialist now employs 900 people and also supplies Nissan and Toyota.

The dedicated rear seating systems production line will be fully operational by the start of 2016 with the first composite seat components delivered to JLR soon after.

A new automated line removes the need to manually handle the larger rear seat systems during production.

The supplier received GBP3m from the UK government's Regional Growth Fund to help build the 11,400 sq m factory.

Once complete, the site in Exhall will house the entire seating systems operation with the window regulator side of the business remaining at its existing site in Courtaulds Way.

The company employed 120 people in 2009 and plans to recruit 100 more in the next 12 months. It also wants to take on more apprentices for its internal training academy.
