Brembo Group has added aluminium brake calliper production at its factory in Nanjing, in China's Jiangsu province, next to the existing plant which makes discs.
The plant measures almost 40,000 sq m.
The site handles everything from delivery of raw material to shipping the finished product and contributes about EUR100m (US$112m) per year to group turnover. It employs 450 people.
The total complex has 67 production lines plus a foundry and production capacity is 2m components a year.
Alberto Bombassei, president of Brembo, said: "This is a highly tangible illustration of the innovative process and product technologies Brembo uses in the production site on behalf of its customers that operate in China."
The new plant was built according to the criteria to guarantee quality, efficiency and environmental protection with an eye to minimising waste and maximising energy recovery by applying the strictest regulations imposed by the Carbon Disclosure Project protocol.
