According to the Venezuelan Automotive Chamber (Cavenez), 16,917 vehicles were sold in November, an increase of 24.5% compared with the 13,583 units sold in October. Year on year, sales grew 128.3%.

January to November sales reached 117,896 vehicles, an increase of 108.4%.
The results reflect the recovery of the Venzuelan new car market after the political crisis last year. This year’s sales are expected to be about 130,000 vehicles, the best result since 2001, when 216,977 vehicles were sold. Last year, only 63,726 vehicles were sold.
General Motors led the market in November with 4,142 vehicles sold, and 24.5% market share. Ford was second (3,288; 19.4%).
Toyota de Venezuela, including Daihatsu, sold 1,859 vehicles for 11% market share.
The Chevrolet Aveo introduced in August, was the best-selling vehicle with 1,445 units sold in November. Second was the Chevrolet Corsa (1,014), just one unit ahead the Daihatsu Terios.
Venezuelan vehicle exports fell a little last month, however. Exports of 883 vehicles were off 0.5% compared to October but up 55.4% year on year.
In the 11 months of 2004 so far, Venezuelan vehicle makers exported 7,599 units, up 37.4% year on year.
