General Motors’ OnStar service will continue its global expansion with the launch of its emergency, security, navigation, diagnostics and connectivity services in Brazil in the Chevrolet Cruze later this year.
The Cruze was recently restyled and launched at the São Paulo International Auto Show last November.
“OnStar offers Cruze owners a new level of connectivity, safety and property security in the Brazilian automotive market,” said Santiago Chamorro, president of GM do Brasil.
OnStar services in Brazil include:
- Security – Helps recover stolen vehicles.
- Emergency – Automatic Crash Response and 24/7 access to advisors to get help when it’s needed most.
- Connectivity – Smartphone app that enables remote functions including vehicle locate, door lock/unlock, honking the horn and flashing the lights.
- Navigation – Provides routes remotely to the vehicle infotainment system.
OnStar services will offer 24-hour assistance from live advisors and will be available with a press of a button located on the rearview mirror or through a mobile app.
In Brazil, OnStar services will be customised to market preferences. Other functions will be announced soon.
