The Note and March have been revealed by Nissan as the first two models to be built at its forthcoming Resende plant in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro.

Nissan North America named the two models in a media release concerning environmental achievements at various plants in the Americas, claiming that it “…anticipates opening its new Resende manufacturing plant in the first half of 2014 as one of the most sustainable facilities in the world”.

“The Resende plant…will build Nissan March and Versa when it opens…”, the statement adds.

Until now, no official naming of the launch models has been made by Nissan, though it was more or less an open secret that these small cars would be built at the company’s newest manufacturing facility in the Americas.

In July, just-auto.com reported that Nissan intends to add the Note at Resende from January 2015. The factory will have the capacity to produce up to 200,000 units annually of what Nissan termed “V platform products” when it first announced the plant in 2011.
