Nissan Motor is in negotiations with billionaire, Eike Batista, for a possible partnership to open a new plant.

Nissan is evaluating various alternatives for investments to build a new plant in Brazil which will quadruple  production capacity.

The plant in Brazil is expected to have production capacity of 200,000 cars a year and boost market share by 5% from 1.2%. Currently Nissan’s production capacity is 60,000 cars in a shared plant with Renault in southern Brazil. The company is yet to finalise a location for the plant.
