A parts distribution centre in Sorocaba will be expanded by July 2009 creating around 100 new jobs and increasing the number of employees to over 650.


A component manufacturing unit in Mogi das Cruzes will be expanded, adding a third shift for the production of sub-assemblies and stampings from August. The expansion will add new assembly cells to produce sub-assemblies for the Chevrolet Astra, Classic and Vectra, reported Autodata. Those cars are currently produced at the company’s facility in São Caetano do Sul, Sao Paulo.


The Mogi das Cruzes plant also produces stamped stamped parts for the S10, Meriva, and Zafira models.
