Automotive industry exports from Brazil were expected to decline this year due to an increase in the value of the real. In fact they have managed to climb 8.2% to a total value of almost $US12bn in the first 11 months.

Brazilian trade association ANFAVEA attributes the growth to a change in the mix of products shipped, reported Autodata. Exports for the full year are forecast to reach US$13bn.
According to Autodata, more trucks were shipped this year, while exports of CKD kits fell. Overall vehicle exports were down 6.6% in volume terms.
Overall production totalled 267,500 units in November, up 20.4% compared to a year ago. Daily production totalled 13,300 units.
From January to November this year, production totaled 2.747m vehicles, an increase of 13.4% compared to a year ago. Daily production averaged 11,900 units during the period.
Because of holiday shutdowns and preparations for new models, the 3m-unit barrier is not expected to be reached this year.
