Benteler is expanding the production area at its Schwandorf location in Germany by around 7,500 square metres.
The plant is part of the company’s Automotive Division where Benteler will produce battery trays for a further German manufacturer.
The site employs around 650 people.
The finalisation of the expansion is planned for autumn, 2020 and production is expected to start by mid-2021.
This is the second expansion. The plant site increased its production area by around 50% in October, 2018 when the company started producing battery trays in Germany.
“We in Schwandorf are experts in lightweight construction,” said Schwandorf plant manager, Helmut Ascher.
