Toyota Motor Europe has appointed Alain Uyttenhoven as vice president effective 1 January.

He is currently VP of Toyota Motor Deutschland where he will be succeeded by Lexus Germany boss Ulrich Selzer.

In his new role, Uyttenhoven will oversee TME’s business strategy in Europe, reinforcing the company’s competitiveness and efficiency. He will report directly to TME president Didier Leroy.

Before heading the German unit from April 2008 Uyttenhoven was VP of aftersales at TME. He joined the company in 2004 as customer services director.

Selzer joined TME in 2004 as director of product planning and market intelligence.
