Ford is recalling about 28,000 Mondeos built in its Genk, Belgium, factory
to replace an improperly sealed cruise control unit which could allow water
in, possibly causing corrosion.

Around 8,000 of the affected cars have not yet been sold.

The European recall is the latest in a spate of Ford quality glitches including
overheating Thunderbird and Lincoln engines, damaged Explorer tyres and no fewer
than five recalls for the Escape SUV soon after its launch.
