Freyr Battery has been awarded a EUR100m grant by the European Union to support development of its Giga Arctic project in Norway.
Construction started this month.
CEO Tom Einar Jensen: “This grant is a recognition batteries represent the key catalyst of the energy transition supporting regional energy security through faster deployment of renewable energy.”
The grant will be made through the EU’s Innovation Fund.
