Autoliv interim chief financial officer and VP corporate control Christian Hanke has resigned "to pursue another opportunity outside" of the safety equipment supplier.

Hanke will leave by 18 March, 2020, Autoliv said in a statement, adding he will remain in his posts until then.

"The company expects that Hanke will remain… through the filing of the… 2019 annual report [and] is continuing its search for a permanent replacement for the CFO position," Autoliv said.

President and CEO Mikael Bratt said: "We very much appreciate Christian's service and wish him the best of luck in his future assignments."

Mats Backman last January resigned as Autoliv's chief financial officer "to accept a similar position with another company" which turned out to be spin-off Veoneer. He was to remain in the role until 8 July, 2019.

Following Backman's departure, Hanke, then vice president, corporate control, was to serve as interim CFO until a permanent appointment was made.
