Thousands
of Australian school children will have their first view of how a car is made
following the launch of a new educational program, "Ford Alive".
The programme will run tours of Ford Australia’s Victoria state Broadmeadows
and Geelong manufacturing operations, and the Ford Discovery Centre, to give
primary and secondary students an insight into the workings of an automotive
manufacturer and the career opportunities available in the industry.

Developed by Ford Australia with the help of the state government’s office of
manufacturing, the programme is expected to host 150 tours in for 7,500 students
in its first year of operation.
Tours begin this month and can be individually tailored to each school’s curriculum
in such areas as the environment, business, science and technology.
