The commercial availability of the Audi A5L Sportback began at the beginning of the month.

The Q6L e-tron and its Sportback variant are the first localised models using the PPE architecture, offering superior driving and charging performance, range, and efficiency, according to Audi.

These vehicles also come equipped with a China-specific infotainment system and an extended wheelbase.

The Audi A6L e-tron, another PPE model, was initially showcased at Auto Shanghai 2025.

Audi FAW NEV Company, a joint venture between Audi and Chinese state-owned automaker FAW Group, is responsible for producing these models at a new facility in Changchun in China’s Jilin province.

The plant began commercial production of battery EVs last year.

The launch also includes the next generation of Audi’s mid-size class, with the Audi A5L developed in collaboration with FAW and the Audi A5L Sportback with SAIC.

Both PPC-based models are equipped with advanced driver assistance features.

In June 2025, Audi, in collaboration with Storm Reply, developed an AI-powered digital assistant, Devbot, to revolutionise its cloud management activities.

This tool, leveraging Agentic AI technologies, will offer Audi’s Cloud Foundation Services team automated support and real-time personalised recommendations, streamlining the use of cloud infrastructure within the company.

In April, Audi halted the distribution of its vehicles at US ports after the implementation of a 25% tariff by the US government.
