Automotive Technology Systems (ATS) will change its name on 1 April to Toyota Boshoku Illinois.
Toyota Boshoku Illinois operates a two-shift schedule employing 950 team members at the Lawrenceville facility and all employees will remain with the company. It supplies multiple auto manufacturers with seats, doors and carpets for several car models.
The Illinois location will soon complete a 126,000 square foot expansion project. The decision to expand and upgrade the plant will allow Toyota Boshoku Illinois to increase production, meeting the additional demand from auto manufacturers as well as consolidating logistic functions into one location.
The news comes as Toyota Boshoku also said it would establish a new office in Silicon Valley in April.
Designated the ‘Toyota Boshoku America Silicon Valley Office, this site will serve as an R&D base for Toyota Boshoku America, strengthening its capacity to conduct research and analysis on advanced technologies related to automated driving and automobile interior spaces.
