ARJ Manufacturing is to change its name from 1 April to Toyota Boshoku Tennessee.

Opening in Jackson, Tennessee, in 2001, ARJ was first established as a joint venture between Araco, later becoming Toyota Boshoku and Johnson Controls, manufacturing seat components for the automotive industry. In September, 2010 ARJ became wholly owned by Toyota Boshoku.

Toyota Boshoku Tennessee employs nearly 250 team members at the Jackson facility and all staff will remain with the company.

It is a stamping and welding assembly supplier for more than 50 models of vehicles to multiple auto manufacturers.

The news follows a similar move by Automotive Technology Systems (ATS), which will change its name, also on 1 April, to Toyota Boshoku Illinois.

Toyota Boshoku Illinois operates a two-shift schedule employing 950 team members at the Lawrenceville facility and all employees will remain with the company. It supplies multiple auto manufacturers with seats, doors and carpets for several car models.

The Illinois location will soon complete a 126,000 square foot expansion project. The decision to expand and upgrade the plant will allow Toyota Boshoku Illinois to increase production, meeting the additional demand from auto manufacturers as well as consolidating logistic functions into one location.

Toyota Boshoku also said it would establish a new office in Silicon Valley in April.
