Argentinean vehicle output for the January-July 2000 period increased 33.8% compared to last year, reports BridgeNews (4/8/00).

Production for July was up 11.2 per cent from the same period last year, with the country producing 29,024 vehicles for the month, but down 1.1 per cent from June, says the Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ADEFA) Thursday (4/8/00).

Exports for the first seven months of the year increased 18.8 per cent from the levels achieved in the same period last year, with July registering a 122.1 per cent increase, totalling 13,743 units, from July 1999. This figure was 3.6 per cent up from the month of June.

July also saw an increase in vehicle purchases by dealers, up 0.4 per cent from June to 25,650 units, but a decrease of 26.1 per cent from July 1999.
