Vehicle sales totaled about 45,000 units in September, compared with around 56,100 a year ago.


Sales were up 6% from August, however, indicating that the industry is beginning to feel a bit of a recovery.


“This is a very good number,” Acara president Dante Alvarez said in a statement cited by Dow Jones.


So far this year the industry has sold 413,000 units, which will likely put total sales this year at over 500,000 units, Alvarez added.
