Córdoba City Council in Argentina and the Renault-Nissan Alliance today (20 September) signed a letter of intent (LoI) to pursue electric vehicle initiatives.
The central northern location becomes Argentina’s first city and the second in South America after Sao Paulo in Brazil to ink such an EV deal.

The Renault-Nissan alliance has a plant in Cordoba’s Santa Isabel facility and says it will now “seek the necessary investment” to support new technology to cut CO2.
Cordoba mayor Daniel Giacomino and Renault Argentina CEO Dominique Maciet added they would now identify opportunities for using electric vehicles in the city.
Under an MoU between the City of Córdoba and the Renault-Nissan Alliance, a joint working group will be set up to examine the viability of bringing electric vehicles to Córdoba.
The Renault-Nissan Alliance has signed similar agreements with more than 60 municipalities, governments and other organisations worldwide.
It also recently unveiled a line-up of four Renault zero emission vehicles.
