UK-based Tier 1 supplier GKN Driveline has pointed out that some three-quarters of all production-ready cars cars launched at Geneva feature its component systems.

The GKN systems include constant velocity joints (CVJs), drive shafts, all-wheel drive torque management solutions and eDrive technologies. The company said that agreements with OEMs prevent full disclosure of what systems are fitted to what vehicles, but it is able to provide a few details.

For example, the new version of BMW’s i8 plug-in hybrid showcases the company’s two-speed eAxle.

GKN also said that two of the fastest rear-wheel drive supercars launched at the Geneva show will deliver their power through GKN’s advanced lightweight rear sideshafts.

Front sideshafts from GKN Driveline will be supplied to the four-wheel drive model variants of two new premium models, while the company’s SX6 constant-velocity joint will appear in a new supermini.
