IT jobs accounted for a 3.98% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2022, registering a decrease of 0.16% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 42.62% in November 2022, a 53.93% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 21.93% in November 2022, marking a 55.86% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 10.71% in November 2022, a 34.81% drop from October 2022.

Top five auto companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 54.2% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s auto industry during November 2022 over previous month.
Dana posted 148 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a decline of 61.95% over the previous month, followed by Tesla with 100 jobs and an 8.7% growth. PACCAR with 65 IT jobs and Lucid Group with 49 jobs, recorded a 14.04% rise and an 84.14% drop, respectively, while Porsche Automobil Holding recorded a 63.64% increase with 36 job postings during November 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s auto industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 90.85% share in November 2022, a 50.31% decrease over October 2022. Mexico featured next with a 5.41% share, down 35% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 3.74% share, a drop of 53.85% compared with October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.04%, down by 52.59% from October 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.3% share, registered a decline of 43.65% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.55% share, down 47.57% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.1%, recording a month-on-month decline of 66.67%.
