Mexico’s auto industry registered a 7.6% drop in IT hiring activity in April 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.86% in April 2022 when compared with March 2022.

Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 12.55% share in April 2022, recording an increase of 0.18% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 69.52% in April 2022, registering a 39.67% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a 9.52% share, a decrease of 16.67% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 8.57%, registering a flat growth from March 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 5.71%, flat growth over the previous month.

Top five auto companies in Mexico’s IT recruitment activity in April 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 38.85% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s auto industry during April 2022 over March 2022.

Continental posted 46 IT jobs in April 2022 and registered a drop of 14.81% over the previous month, followed by AutoZone with 22 jobs and a 69.23% growth. Robert Bosch with 9 IT jobs and Aptiv with 4 jobs, recorded an 84.75% decline and a 42.86% decrease, respectively, while Nissan Motor recorded a decline of 33.33% with 4 job postings during April 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in April 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.29%, down by 31.58% from March 2022. Mid Level positions with a 19.05% share, registered a decline of 25.93% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.67% share, down 65% over March 2022.
