Out of the auto industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.28% share in November 2022, recording a decrease of 0.98% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 33.33% in November 2022, registering a 62.5% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 25% share, a flat growth over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 25%, registering a 47.06% decline from October 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 13.89%, down 37.5% over the previous month.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 9.09% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s auto industry during November 2022 over October 2022.
BRP posted 15 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a rise of 25% over the previous month, followed by Magna International with 5 jobs and a 28.57% drop. General Motors with 5 IT jobs and Martinrea International with 3 jobs, recorded a 25% growth and a 50% decrease, respectively, while AutoCanada recorded a decline of 50% with 2 job postings during November 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.56%, down by 67.21% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 27.78% share, registered an increase of 11.11% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 16.67% share, down 25% over October 2022.
