By no means a major Chinese motor show, nonetheless the annual event in Chengdu is usually the venue for quite a few world premieres. This year’s CDMS was no exception.

BAIC BJEV EU7: joins the EU5 electric sedan and slots into the same size class as the Tesla Model 3.
Baojun RC-6: this is a 4,925mm long segment five-door crossover powered by a 1.5-litre turbo engine with outputs of 108kW and 245Nm.
Baojun RM-5: this 4,705mm long MPV is based on the RM-C, a concept displayed at the Shanghai motor show in April. Has the same engine as the RC-6.

By GlobalDataBuick Verano facelift: SAIC-GM incorrectly calls this an all-new car in its press release. The 1.5-litre engine is replaced by 1.0- and 1.3-litre turbo units.
Cadillac CT5: premiere for the locally manufactured version which should replace the ATS-L. China’s CT5 is the same length as the US-built version.
Changan CS75 Plus: this SUV, a replacement for the CS75, is 50mm longer and offers the choice of 1.5- and 2.0-litre turbocharged engines.
Chery Arrizo e: having been revealed as the Arrizo 5e at Auto Shanghai earlier in 2019, the production version of this 4.6m long sedan has been given a different name.
Chery Exeed LX: 4,533mm long SUV is based on the Chery Tiggo 7 and is powered by a 1.6-litre turbo engine.
Chery Tiggo e: another confusingly named Chery as this is an electric version of the Tiggo 5x, a 4,368mm long SUV which is sold as the Tiggo 4 in some countries.
Chevrolet Menlo: a BEV crossover which shares much with the Buick Velite 6 MAV.
DFSK ix7: formerly known only by its F517 project code, this SUV is offered with 150PS and 180PS versions of a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
Dongfeng Fengshen EX1: 3,732mm long, this is a restyled Renault City K-ZE/Venucia e30. Has the same 33kW motor and 271km NEDC range.
Geely Bo Rui GE facelift: an update for these MHEV and PHEV versions of the Bo Rui/Borui, a D segment sedan, after only slightly more than a year of production.
Honda Breeze: Dongfeng Honda makes the CR-V so this is a modified version for Guangqi Honda, the JV with GAC.
Hyundai Elantra Lingdong PHEV: on sale since mid-August this is its motor show premiere. Has a 1.6-litre engine and one motor with a claimed range of 85km in EV mode.
Hyundai Lafesta EV: a claimed maximum range of 490km with production due to commence in November at the Beijing #3 plant.
JAC Jiayue A5: formerly known by its A432 project code, this is a 4,755mm long five-door hatchback. Due on sale in China in the fourth quarter.
Kia KX3: this longer (by 30mm, to 4,345mm) and extended wheelbase (by 20mm to 2,630mm) version of the new Seltos replaces the discontinued KX3. Even though the ICE versions of that model were not successful, an EV version continues to be built by Dongfeng Yueda Kia. The KX3 EV and new KX3 (codename: SP2c) are therefore different vehicles.
Lincoln Corsair: a world premiere in that it is the version for the Chinese market manufactured in Chongqing by the Changan Ford JV.
Maxus Euniq 6 and Euniq 6 Plug-In: EV and PHEV versions of the still new Maxus D60, a body-on-frame SUV.
Mercedes-Benz EQC 400 4MATIC Edition 1886: the BAIC Benz’s locally manufactured EQC is introduced and will be in production soon in Beijing.
MG ZS facelift: launched at the Guangzhou motor show in November 2016 and in production from February 2017, this is the C segment SUV’s first update. There is also a new 1.3-litre turbo engine, outputs from which are stated as being 93kW and 230Nm.
Pao P-Series: Great Wall creates a brand for pick-ups with the first one using the same P71 ladder frame chassis as the new Wingle 7.
Qoros 5S: a revised name with the addition of the S and a mid-life facelift as well as a new 1.6-litre petrol engine.
SouEast/Southeast DX5: like the larger DX7 and DX9, this 4,406mm long SUV uses a Mitsubishi platform and is powered by locally manufactured Mitsubishi petrol engines, in this case 120PS 1.5- and 156PS turbocharged 1.5-litre units.
SWM G05: Brilliance-Shineray adds another model, this 4,710mm long crossover becoming its fifth vehicle with the X9 due to join the line-up in late 2019 or possibly 2020.
Venucia D60 EV: looks very similar to the Nissan Sylphy-based D60 sedan, has a 58kWh battery pack with a maximum claimed range of 481km (NEDC).
Xpeng G3 400 and GS 520: Formerly, the range of the G3 had been 351-365km but now the base car is called G3 400 and has an NEDC rating of up to 401km, with 520km claimed for the additional variant.
Wey VV7 GT: based on the VV7, this is a coupe-crossover which is different mainly at the back end. Standard engine is a 167kW (223hp) 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo.
