Sales and Related Occupations drive auto industry hiring activity
Of the industry's total hiring activity, the highest number of new job postings were for Sales and Related Occupations, which accounted for 23% of the total new job postings in Q2 2024 and were up by 141% year-on-year. Second highest were Transportation and Material Moving Occupations, which accounted for 11% and rise by 75% year-on-year, and third highest were Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations, which were 6% of the new job postings and 56% lower year-on-year.
Top five companies in auto industry accounted for 45% of hiring activity
The highest number of jobs were posted by O'Reilly Automotive with 12,477, followed by Advance Auto Parts with 10,487, while the highest increase was at Penske at 52%.
