Toyota resumed production in Japan on Monday following a week-long stoppage caused by a shortage of parts from a key affiliated supplier.
Japan's leading carmaker halted production at all its plants on 8 February after an explosion in January disabled a key engine component production facility belonging to Aichi Steel.

Production was restarted at 29 vehicle and supplier factories on Monday after Toyota managed to secure component supplies from alternative manufacturers as well as from other facilities from within the Aichi Steel group.
Aichi Steel said it expects to return to full production in March.
Last week's six-day stoppage was the longest since a powerful earthquake and tsunami devastated parts of Japan in 2011. Toyota's normal daily output in Japan is around 14,000 vehicles.
