The ReMIT Centre for Technical Excellence will be opened on Tuesday 28 October 2003 and is the first to be wholly owned and operated by ReMIT, the training body for the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI).

ReMIT managing director Stephen Ramsay said: “The centre will provide young people with top-notch training, enabling them to pursue successful careers in the retail motor sector.”

The centre will have 700 light vehicle technicians and electricians from across south east England under training at any one time. The centre will also provide training facilities for manufacturers including Volkswagen, Ford, DaimlerChrysler and Maranello Concessionaires Ltd, the Ferrari and Maserati importer.

More centres are to be established across the UK by ReMIT over the next few years.
