Interfax reports that within that total, car production rose to 248,519 units from 245,277 units last year, while truck output (including chassis) fell to 38,943 units from 40,988 units last year.


The country produced 17,029 buses in the quarter, up from 11,476 in the same period of 2001. There were 412 buses built on Russian truck chassis in the quarter, down from 605 units in the same period last year.
