French carmaker Renault SA plans to sell a total of 6,000 cars a year in Japan by the end of 2006, the company said on May 21, 2003, according to the Japanese News Digest.
In 1999, when Renault took a share of Nissan Motor, it set an annual sales target of 30,000 units a year, but subsequently reduced the figure following the sluggish Japanese market for imported cars.
