“The current worldwide shortage of supply in certain semiconductor components affected deliveries in the first quarter and will continue to affect sales in Q2,” Daimler said.

Asia-Pacific volume rose 46.6% as China sales were up 60.1% to a record 222,520.

Locked down Europe squeaked up just 1.8% with German sales off 15.4% at 54,446.

North America rose 12.5% to 88,318 with US volume up 15.5% to 78,256.
