Robert Melville has been promoted to the role of chief designer at McLaren Automotive bringing with him more than a decade of experience covering a wide range of projects for leading brands in the luxury segment.
A graduate of the Royal College of Arts in 2003 having studied automotive design, he joined McLaren in 2009 as a senior designer and has since worked on the designs of the P1, 650S and, most recently, the Sports Series due to be launched later this year.

Melville reports to design director Frank Stephenson and will lead a team tasked with developing the future visual direction of the brand including building up on the new family look that debuted with the P1.
