In 2015, the company plans to ship around 1,500 Chinese S60Ls to the US.

Volvo spokesman David Ibison said: “The S60L offers class-leading rear space, something that has been consistently demanded by US customers. It will be made at Volvo’s plant in Chengdu, China, and will be on show for the first time at this year’s [Detroit show]. The S60L forms just one part of our US revival plan.”

Meanwhile, by 2018, the company plans to launch seven new products. In the medium term it aims to sell around 100,000 vehicles per year in the US.
