BELGIUM: Toyota ramps up used hybrid battery recycling
Toyota is aiming to collect 100% of used hybrid batteries from its own dealers or any authorised end of life vehicle (ELV) treatment operator across the whole Europe.
Toyota is aiming to collect 100% of used hybrid batteries from its own dealers or any authorised end of life vehicle (ELV) treatment operator across the whole Europe.
It currently swaps a new hybrid battery for an old one with Toyota and Lexus dealers achieving an average 91% collection rate.
Used batteries are recycled but Toyota Europe said it is researching different remanufacturing options such as giving batteries a second life as vehicle to vehicle or vehicle to stationary energy sources.
