GAZ Group has signed a distribution agreement with Eastern European company, Verano Motors, to sell GAZelle Next light commercial vehicles in Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Russian manufacturer says start of sales of the Euro-5 GAZelle Next LCVs is planned for the second quarter of this year in nine dealer centres.

Verano Motors will also sell AWD GAZelle Business and Sobol Business vehicles.

Verano Motors is a part of one of the major Balkan groups, Verano and has been the official dealer of Peugeot in Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1996.

Training and certification of salespersons and service specialists for GAZ vehicles are under way in dealer centres in Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Signing an agreement with a new partner is a part of our strategy to extend sales to the non-CIS export markets,” said GAZ Group president, Vadim Sorokin.

“In 2014, we started producing and selling GAZelle Next in Turkey [and] obtained the unified European certificate confirming our vehicles meet all the EU requirements.

Certification tests for the GAZelle Next used Euro-5 standards and were carried out by IDIADA Automotive Technology in Spain, which confirmed compliance with 43 safety requirements, while 113 global certificates were obtained.
