The new model, developed under the A1BC project code, is expected to be sold as a coupe and a convertible.

The 2016 Camaro will switch both architectures and production plants. While the current car is Zeta-based and built in Ontario, the new Alpha platform model will be manufactured in Michigan. This will be at Lansing Grand River, the same plant which already builds the Cadillac ATS, ATS Coupe and CTS. All three also use Alpha, a rear- and all-wheel drive matrix.
