The passenger car joint venture Changan Ford Automobile (CAF) sold 218,487 vehicles in the first quarter, up 12%. Monthly sales reached 74,418 vehicles, up 4%.
CV JV Jiangling Motors (JMC) sold 70,582 vehicles in the first quarter, up 5%. March sales fell to 27,002 from 28,501 in March 2014.
Ford opened its sixth assembly plant in China in Hangzhou in March, increasing capacity by 250,000 vehicles. It launches a new flagship, the Taurus, on 18 April.
