Getrag will produce a new dual-clutch transmission model (7DCT300) in Modugno, Italy.
The plant will be extended by approximately 8,000 sq m to accommodate the new product. Getrag will spend EUR100m (US$107.4m) on the expansion and new production facilities. The plant already produces the 6DCT250 low torque dual clutch transmission with about 800 employees.

Bob Taylor, Modugno plant manager, said: “The new transmission will secure long term production at the plant.
Work on the extension will start in May.
Based on a new, modular platform, the 7DCT300 is designed for a maximum torque of 300Nm. Hybrid versions can be used in vehicles without major changes in installation space. OEMs can therefore produce conventionally powered and hybrid vehicles on the same production line.
Applications extend from 48V mild hybrids up to 360V plug-in models.
