Ford has expanded a door lock recall by 119,567 vehicles to 456,400 units in the US.
It initially said it would recall 2013-2014 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles manufactured from 1 July, 2012 to 31 May, 2013, and 2012-2014 Fiestas made from 1 February, 2012, to 31 May, 2013.

This has now been expanded to cover 2011 Fiestas made from 11 November, 2009 to 31 May, 2013 and 2013 Fusion and MKZ vehicles made from 1 February, 2012, to 30 June, 2012. A component within the door latches may break making the doors difficult to latch and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when it is not.
Dealers will replace all four door latches with an improved part.
