Oshkosh has announced Stephen Newlin has been appointed as independent chairman.
Newlin succeeds Craig Omtvedt, who has served as board member since 2008 and as chairman since 2017.

Omtvedt was also elected by shareholders and will continue to serve as a member of the Oshkosh board.
“We are pleased Steve is stepping into the role as Oshkosh’s next chairman, reflecting the depth of talent on Oshkosh’s board as well as our commitment to ongoing succession planning,” said retiring Oshkosh board member and chair of the governance committee, Leslie Kenne.
Newlin currently serves as non-executive chairman of Univar Solutions, a global distributor of chemicals and services and previously served as its executive chairman, as well as CEO. Newlin will serve as non-executive chairman of the Univar board until May, 2020, the time of their annual shareholders meeting.
Previously, Newlin served as chairman, president and CEO of PolyOne Corporation, a global formulator of polymer materials, services and solutions, from 2006 to 2014 and executive chairman of the board from 2014 to 2016.
