Delphi Aftermarket Operations, a division of Delphi Automotive Systems (NYSE: DPH), announced today that it has joined the European business-to-business (B2B) enterprise TecCom GmbH with an equity stake in the online automotive aftermarket procurement solution. The announcement was made here in conjunction with the division’s participation in Automechanika 2000 (Hall 4, Stand C55), a major European aftermarket trade show.

TecCom, which was formed in August, is an electronic communications system developed under contract from TecDoc as an industry solution for the US$80 billion European automotive aftermarket. The innovative Internet and EDIFACT-based system allows the integration of supply-chain management requirements and online data search and ordering between manufacturers, distributors and repair shops. The system also offers fully electronic business transactions, which significantly reduce costs throughout the entire distribution channel.
