“This is a people mover that simply oozes common sense,” said the AutoExpress judges. “The Sedona provides all that can be asked of it in a value for money package which we think is impossible to beat as a second hand buy, it stands head and shoulders above the rest.”

The Sedona has been a surprise success for the UK Kia importers, since its launch about three years ago. In the large MPV sector it is now second only to Ford#;s Galaxy (Ford#;s version of the VW Sharan/Seat Alhambra shared model programme), and ahead of its Chrysler and Renault rivals.

The Kia minivan has also topped its ‘people mover’ sector in Australia where it is known as the Carnival.
