Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.’s (GT) Goodyear Engineered Products unit will build a $16 million molded transportation-products manufacturing plant in Mexico.
In a press release Thursday, Goodyear said the products will include engine and shock mounts to reduce vibration and improve vehicle handling.

Construction on the plant, Goodyear’s fifth in Mexico, will being this fall, with production expected to start in the first quarter of 2001.
Sites are still being considered.
In 1999, Goodyear Tire earned $241.1 million, or $1.54 a share, on revenue of $12.88 billion.
