Toyota Motor said on Tuesday its domestic car output in July fell year on year for the first time in two months as it produced fewer passenger cars, according to Dow Jones.

Toyota’s domestic car production declined 2.0% from a year earlier to 303,031 units in July, compared with a 6.7% rise in June, the report added.
Dow Jones said Mitsubishi Motors reported its domestic output fell 2.6% to 64,753 units for the first decline in three months. The car maker reportedly blamed a drop in exports.
Honda Motor said its domestic car output fell for the sixth straight month in July due to the small number of new models, Dow Jones said.
Nissan Motor reportedly boosted its domestic production in July thanks to the launch of its new “Presage” minivan model in July and robust sales of its “Cube” compact car, Dow Jones said.
Nissan’s production in Japan for July rose 6.3% to 139,099 units, marking the 17th straight month of year on year rises, the report added.
Mazda Motor reported its domestic production declined 3.4% to 72,436 in July, for the first fall in three months. It blamed a drop in passenger car output, Dow Jones said.
