Ireland’s post service An Post began operating two all electric Fuso eCanter trucks in the capital Dublin this month.
The eCanter now operates in 10 European cities in Germany, UK, France, Portugal, Netherlands, Denmark and Ireland.
Daimler Trucks said An Post was the first postal service provider in the world to attain zero carbon emission delivery status within a capital city.
“The eCanter is an integral part of our customer’s effort to reduce carbon emissions and in striving towards cleaner air quality in Ireland.”
The eCanter was launched in October 2017 and achieved the initial sales target of 150 units in about two years.
More deliveries in Europe, Japan and the US will follow.
