Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has drawn down on a EUR6.25bn (US$6.79bn) credit line to cope with the coronavirus health crisis, a media report said.

The funds from the revolving credit facility, originally signed in June 2015, added to the EUR1.5bn Fiat Chrysler had drawn down from other credit lines, Reuters reported.

The news agency noted Ford had drawn down over $15bn from revolving credit lines and last week raised $8bn from corporate debt investors to boost cash.

General Motors had entered into a 364-day revolving credit agreement of $1.95bn which the company said would be exclusively used by its financial services business.

Earlier this month Fiat Chrysler said it had agreed to a new EUR3.5bn credit facility with two banks, which remains undrawn, Reuters added.
